Luís Fábio Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Prestes in the 3rd minute of play. After 5 played minutes E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO got a freekick which was hit by Caio da Silveira. In the 7thth minute of the game Donato Prestes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th match minute, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Lima to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fábio Bittencourt stood somewhat misplaced when Donato Prestes came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 14 minute. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Bernardo Matos took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Luís Fábio Bittencourt to make any attempt to save it. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the match, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Bittencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardo Matos. A collision led to Corumbaense F.C. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Fabinho do Valle hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Donato Prestes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Luís Fábio Bittencourt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luís Fábio Bittencourt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fabiano Ortiz went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Ortiz in the 43rd minute of play. Erivaldo Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donato Prestes to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Donato Prestes sped through E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luís Fábio Bittencourt. After 55 played minutes E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO got a freekick which was hit by Hílton Pinho. Luís Fábio Bittencourt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Augusto Xavier went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. 63 minutes into the game, Corumbaense F.C.'s Luiz Fabiano Ortiz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fábio Bittencourt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Ortiz in the 78th minute of the match. Zeca Peres charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeca Peres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Zeca Peres hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Caio da Silveira got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 85 minutes of play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Luiz Fabiano Ortiz made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Fábio Bittencourt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Prestes in the 89th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Ortiz in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Humberto Loyola made a precise shot to the right of Luís Fábio Bittencourt. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Corumbaense F.C. fully deserved thier win.
