RIO DE JANEIRO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. João Francisco Paiva, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 47th match minute, MILAN F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco Paiva to maneuver through the defense. After the first half E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Noel Favoretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Fábio Bittencourt having to make a save. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Favoretto in the 55th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armandinho da Costa's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. The referee gave MILAN F C a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by João Francisco Paiva, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt. 1-1. 68 minutes into the match, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho da Costa came free, but Luís Fábio Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho da Costa in the 73rd minute of play. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
