The Poetass FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Umberto Mendes should have stopped the shot. Lisa Simpson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Luís Paulo Teixeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Umberto Mendes was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the game, Valdemar Pena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Umberto Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 17 minutes into the game, Lisa Simpson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. But to his dismay, Lisa Simpson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, Santos da Bahia Fc's Dinei Lara got a free kick in the 27th minute. Santos da Bahia Fc's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Sandrinho Carvalho scored to the left of an out of position Jacinto Aparecido, making the score, 1-4. A collision led to Poetass FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Abelardo Mattos hit a great ball. Dinei Lara's late challenge caught a Poetass FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinei Lara helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Santos da Bahia Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisa Simpson got free with Umberto Mendes in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 52ndth minute of the game Lisa Simpson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poetass FC's Umberto Mendes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Poetass FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valdemar Pena was slow to take the kick. During this time Santos da Bahia Fc's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Santos da Bahia Fc getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Anísio Cunha hit a great ball. When Kléber Mello fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poetass FC's protests and gave Kléber Mello a yellow card for diving instead. After 62 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Mello. After recieving a nice pass, Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Santos da Bahia Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rony Peixoto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Aparecido having to make a save. Poetass FC's Umberto Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisa Simpson in the 85th minute of play. Umberto Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abelardo Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Santos da Bahia Fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
