In the 22ndth minute of the game Konstanty Janiczek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argentina's Lev Yashin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tolek Kiszkiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Naelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Felipillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tolek Kiszkiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Gilbert Cipinski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tolek Kiszkiel came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentina's Samuel Jobo. But to his dismay, Samuel Jobo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Fausto Santana made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Poland's Grzegorz Soszka. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Konstanty Janiczek to make the kick off. A collision led to Poland getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Zachariasz Sitko hit a great ball. In the 56th minute Benedicto Naelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolek Kiszkiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Poland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Samuel Jobo was slow to take the kick. During this time Argentina's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Samuel Jobo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tolek Kiszkiel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Poland's Tolek Kiszkiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 60th minute of play. Poland's Roch Dejo was substituted for Pier Kopacz. Poland made a substitution. Tymoteusz Jajko replaced Konstanty Janiczek. Poland's Iwan Kasiewski was substituted for Harry Maguire. Grzegorz Soszka got a throw-in 66 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Iwan Kasiewski. In the 70thth minute of the game Tymoteusz Jajko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argentina's Lev Yashin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benedicto Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tymoteusz Jajko in the 77th minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lev Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tymoteusz Jajko in the 80th minute of the match. Argentina's Amado Arotza was substituted for Paolo-César Maldini. Argentina made a substitution. Loco Durazno replaced Armando Felipillo. 84 minutes in the game Grzegorz Soszka did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Iwan Kasiewski. Tolek Kiszkiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loco Durazno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Loco Durazno scored 1-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tolek Kiszkiel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Argentina eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
