With an all-out effort, Birmingham City F.C.'s Fodor Daniel threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zhivko Kudev, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Katona Janos got a free kick in the 8th minute. When Stayko Bobekov came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Birmingham City F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stayko Bobekov couldn't finish the play. Kliment Zakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 11th minute of play. Kliment Zakov came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Major Barna. But to his dismay, Major Barna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhivko Kudev in the 15th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Birmingham City F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stayko Bobekov in the 16th minute. A nice corner shot did that Stayko Bobekov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fodor Daniel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 19 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Zhivko Kudev came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Birmingham City F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Kliment Zakov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 played minutes Birmingham City F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Slavyan Agov. Birmingham City F.C.'s Kliment Zakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Major Barna made a precise shot to the right of Kliment Zakov. Birmingham City F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Zhivko Kudev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fodor Daniel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of Hungary booed when Birmingham City F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Şerban didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Luis Alberto Suárez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hegedus Henrik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kliment Zakov having to interfere.
The wind increased when Antal Valentin made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Hegedus Henrik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Alberto Suárez in the 52nd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Birmingham City F.C. got a corner. Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stayko Bobekov ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 57th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hegedus Henrik to maneuver through the defense. Takacs Tibor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Kliment Zakov made a huge save. Slavyan Agov hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Balazs Lajos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kliment Zakov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 67 minutes Birmingham City F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. Hungary's Katona Janos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kliment Zakov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Kliment Zakov was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Katona Janos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 67 minute of play. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Alberto Suárez in the 73rd minute of play. Kliment Zakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Alberto Suárez in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peycho Zvezdanov in the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Kliment Zakov in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 87th minute of play forced Birmingham City F.C.'s goalkeeper Kliment Zakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary's Major Barna got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Birmingham City F.C.'s goalkeeper Kliment Zakov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin.
