In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind ПФК „Левски“ София's goalkeeper Stiliyan Komsalov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stiliyan Komsalov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the match, ПФК „Левски“ София's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Stiliyan Komsalov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Vanderstraeten to maneuver through the defense. If Andrey Plachkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stiliyan Komsalov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Feliks Kasperowicz made the kick off in the second half. Andrey Plachkov scored 1-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casper Claes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliks Kasperowicz in the 55th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vitko Deliev during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stiliyan Komsalov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viden Borimechkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind ПФК „Левски“ София's goalkeeper Stiliyan Komsalov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edward Vanderstraeten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Toma Mortev came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belgium's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
