Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frank Sachs got the match started through his kick off. A throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game was made by Basarab Strungă with Ferdinand Gogu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Irinel Șeicaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Old Boys's Basarab Strungă got a free kick in the 24th minute. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dacian Ecobescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Ulrich Stein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dacian Ecobescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Ferdinand Gogu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Ferdinand Gogu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommy Kahn was a little too slow when Iacob Drăgoescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Sven Krakouer fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Sven Krakouer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gelu Feraru to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panait Groza in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 57 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Georgi Asparuhov came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Albin Holweck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dacian Ecobescu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georgi Asparuhov in the 61st minute of play. 65 minutes in the game Basarab Strungă did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ferdinand Gogu. After 65 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Albin Holweck. In the 68th minute Georgi Asparuhov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 73 in the game by Frank Sachs from a close distance when the talented Dacian Ecobescu managed to make a qualified save. Old Boys's players were relieved. The supporters of Old Boys booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 82 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute Georgi Asparuhov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albin Holweck's late challenge caught a Old Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albin Holweck helped the player get up and apologised. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavius Nebunu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Basarab Strungă was slow to take the kick. During this time Old Boys's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Basarab Strungă got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tommy Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 92 minutes into the match, Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Dacian Ecobescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
