Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Nick Farrugia made the kick off and thus started the match. 5 minutes into the match, MARTINETA's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Farrugia came free, but Guido Herrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute, Andrè Tedesco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Torres notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Meerkats FC's Fredric Hansson. Fredric Hansson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guido Herrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Farrugia in the 15th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, MARTINETA's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Farrugia came free, but Guido Herrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute of the match, Nick Farrugia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Guido Herrera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ezequiel Torres in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fredric Hansson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Meerkats FC defense, Ezequiel Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fredric Hansson. The Meerkats FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fredric Hansson should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Meerkats FC's Richard Rapinett got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute Nick Farrugia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Nesor hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 43 minutes MARTINETA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robert Portanier who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Robert Portanier got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Guido Herrera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Meerkats FC's Nick Farrugia pulled a muscle in his leg after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Meerkats FC's Kevin Musu was substituted for Nick Farrugia. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for MARTINETA! In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Meerkats FC. Robert Portanier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Guido Herrera. 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ezequiel Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. Guido Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Rapinett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MARTINETA's Guido Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Darmanin in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Vincent Callus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Rapinett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guido Herrera having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Martin Rapinett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meerkats FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Rapinett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guido Herrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute of the match Meerkats FC got a corner. MARTINETA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Robert Portanier ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Francisco Nesor fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARTINETA's protests and gave Francisco Nesor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MARTINETA getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Francisco Nesor hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, MARTINETA's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Callus came free, but Guido Herrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in MARTINETA's zone, Robert Portanier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guido Herrera came out of the goal and Robert Portanier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Meerkats FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
