The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Bairoletto FC got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Corderun. Bairoletto FC's Jacindo Guztros was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Carvalhais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 23 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goalkeeper João Carvalhais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nereo Norino. Candido Lehior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Nascimento in the 31st minute of the match. Candido Lehior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Gremio Viana were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Bairoletto FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angelino Froila took the corner. The wind increased when Edson Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Bairoletto FC booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Modesto Ieltxu in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carvalhais saved Gremio Viana from getting behind. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Carvalhais showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 76th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Valido to maneuver through the defense. Gremio Viana's João Carvalhais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edelmiro Galeno in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Edson Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edson Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrizio Crognale to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Ieltxu in the 89th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper João Carvalhais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Carvalhais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edelmiro Galeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Bairoletto FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
