Gremio Viana's João Carvalhais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Bak in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edson Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Edson Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gremio Viana's supporters rose to their feet, but Edson Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 89th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lourenço Passos to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Hannover Reds booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higino Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Jon Bak took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for João Carvalhais to make any attempt to save it.
