Damian Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Esiquio having to interfere. In the 10th minute La Guardia Imperial were awarded a corner. Marcial Abaunza went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on La Guardia Imperial's corner Francisco Sayveon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Franco Moscatelli quite easily take care of the ball. Atilano Esiquio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Izel's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Franco Moscatelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Teves in the 17th minute of the match. Atilano Esiquio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Izel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Gilberto Izel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Atilano Esiquio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Franco Moscatelli was a little too slow when Carlos Teves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-1. Nicolás Blandi hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when La Guardia Imperial's Carlos Teves in the 30th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Franco Moscatelli was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for La Scaloneta through an amazing save. 31 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's Gilberto Izel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Atilano Esiquio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Franco Moscatelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Teves in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Teves came free, but Franco Moscatelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Scaloneta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Izel was the one to do the kick off. Atilano Esiquio made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Gilberto Izel sent off a good shot on target. 55 minutes into the match, La Guardia Imperial's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Izel came free, but Atilano Esiquio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th play minute Gilberto Izel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Atilano Esiquio. 1-2. If Gilberto Izel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute Gilberto Izel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Esiquio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, La Scaloneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Blandi to maneuver through the defense. After 65 minutes of play, La Guardia Imperial's Carlos Teves made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franco Moscatelli was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, La Guardia Imperial's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Izel came free, but Atilano Esiquio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Guardia Imperial's goalkeeper Atilano Esiquio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Gilberto Izel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atilano Esiquio. La Guardia Imperial's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto Izel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The corner led to La Scaloneta's Damian Eduino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 83rd minute, Damian Eduino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the game, Gilberto Izel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Atilano Esiquio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Franco Moscatelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Teves, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of La Scaloneta were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant La Guardia Imperial side.
