The referee ignored Vila Zumbi's protests and gave Dino Netto a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Dino Netto got a free kick in the 5th minute. Abelardo Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mané Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Barreto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. Vila Zumbi's Abelardo Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Lara in the 12th minute of play. Abelardo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Lara in the 14th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Mané Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joinville United - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mané Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abelardo Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Zumbi's zone, Maurício Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Barreto came out of the goal and Maurício Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mané Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vila Zumbi's Abelardo Barreto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Zumbi from getting a goal against them.

67 minutes into the match, Yang Hui Wen notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Vila Zumbi's Abelardo Barreto. Abelardo Barreto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abelardo Barreto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Perivaldo de Lara went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Joinville United - FSCMZ walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
