Domingos Lencastre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Sven-Olof Gummeson made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, Mantorp's Aaron Lundqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Fiúza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingos Lencastre was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Gustaf Wennerlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingos Lencastre might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Olof Gummeson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Domingos Lencastre ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Domingos Lencastre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven-Olof Gummeson was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Samuel Fiúza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernt Kihlberg in the 85th minute. When Tony Påk came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Gremio Viana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Påk couldn't finish the play. Sven-Olof Gummeson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mantorp's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adalberto Leite was slow to take the kick. During this time Gremio Viana's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Gremio Viana's Tony Påk to fire away a dangerous shot which Sven-Olof Gummeson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sven-Olof Gummeson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gremio Viana's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
