A very good chance for a goal. 18 minutes into the game, Atabek Bayülgen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bermendespor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Atabek Bayülgen hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Onur Ali Tulun got free with Arnout Reekers in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Vidal in the 32nd minute of the match. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. Eray Çetinoz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. Hikmet Altun kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Bermendespor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fabiano Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eray Çetinoz in the 55th minute of play.
