With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A sloppy throw-in by Casimiro Raitin in the 23rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgium's Floris Claeys. Lucio Quieto's Genaro Montez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sixto Nesto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casper Claes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sixto Nesto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Genaro Montez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 54th minute of the match. Sixto Nesto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Casper Claes having to make a save. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucio Quieto's goalkeeper Genaro Montez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lucio Quieto's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Belgium's corner Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Genaro Montez quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Belgium's Siebe Michiels sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Genaro Montez narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
