Miguel Ángel Benito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Honrio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. After 7 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Juan José Ferrero. ORIZABA F.C.'s Hugo Gines shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 8th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Roberto Nunes but with some difficulty. Eugenio Honrio came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Edgardo Murgas. But to his dismay, Edgardo Murgas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Fernandez in the 12th minute of play forced ORIZABA F.C.'s goalkeeper Eugenio Honrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Miguel Ángel Benito managed to get in a good position for a shot. GuateFortín's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Ángel Benito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Honrio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Soin in the 23rd minute of play. GuateFortín's Roberto Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save GuateFortín from getting a goal against them. After 26 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Miguel Ángel Benito made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Honrio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel Ángel Benito took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Honrio. Eugenio Honrio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind ORIZABA F.C.'s goalkeeper Eugenio Honrio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ORIZABA F.C.'s Vito Corleone got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Vito Corleone off the ground. A collision led to ORIZABA F.C. getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Vito Corleone hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Ángel Benito to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, GuateFortín's Victor Sotomayor seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Victor Sotomayor the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GuateFortín protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Victor Sotomayor had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Victor Sotomayor hit a great ball. GuateFortín made a substitution. David Ruiz replaced Dirk Behrens. Roberto Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Gaizko in the 41st minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, Miguel Ángel Benito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Eugenio Honrio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Ángel Benito made a kick off. Ernesto Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Edgardo Murgas made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Honrio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 57 minutes into the match, ORIZABA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Fernandez came free, but Eugenio Honrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugenio Honrio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Murgas in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Soin in the 70th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Roberto Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ORIZABA F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Ernesto Fernandez scored to the left of an out of position Eugenio Honrio, making the score, 0-6. GuateFortín made a substitution. Juan José Ferraro replaced Edgardo Murgas. The GuateFortín fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when GuateFortín's Ernesto Fernandez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 85 minutes into the match, ORIZABA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Ángel Benito came free, but Eugenio Honrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
