Buba Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asier Pedraja having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romildo Pratti in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asier Pedraja prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Romildo Pratti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Asier Pedraja made a huge save. Asier Pedraja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Travassos in the 21st minute of play. Jerardo Cazares charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerardo Cazares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Real Dracul Medellín getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jerardo Cazares hit a great ball. Vito Travassos didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 25th minute. São Paulo F.C.'s supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Romildo Pratti came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Asier Pedraja could save by the left post. Vito Travassos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Asier Pedraja when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Romildo Pratti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orain Husarte in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiago Godoi saved São Paulo F.C. from getting behind. Asier Pedraja made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Romildo Pratti sent off a good shot on target. If Edmílson Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Real Dracul Medellín got a freekick which was hit by Tavio Imaz. In the 49th match minute, São Paulo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Vidal to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orain Husarte was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th match minute, Real Dracul Medellín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zarando Robleda to maneuver through the defense. São Paulo F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerardo Cazares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Tavio Imaz's late challenge caught a São Paulo F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tavio Imaz helped the player get up and apologised. Asier Pedraja had in the 91stth minute some difficulties stopping Romildo Pratti's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Asier Pedraja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vito Travassos in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute Vito Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asier Pedraja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The São Paulo F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when São Paulo F.C.'s Yaya Sow looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Asier Pedraja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romildo Pratti in the 100th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The São Paulo F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Dracul Medellín had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
