With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Gaizkine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Adriano van Beek managed to get in a good position for a shot. ✪ XV de Umarizal's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano van Beek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Gaizkine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, ✪ XV de Umarizal's Domingo Bulnes got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, ✪ XV de Umarizal's goalkeeper Domingo Bulnes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Alberto Soares. Catugi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Adriano van Beek made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Benjamim Alvarenga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ✪ XV de Umarizal the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Benjamim Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Gaizkine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 63rd minute, Adriano van Beek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Gaizkine was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Luiz Fabiano Amorim got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Jaime França got a free kick in the 87th minute. Paulo Gaizkine had great luck who in the 88thth minute grab hold of the ball when Régis Madureira from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 90th minute Régis Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gaizkine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Gaizkine made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Luiz Fabiano Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Fabiano Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Paulo Gaizkine made a huge save. In the 93rd match minute, ✪ XV de Umarizal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdomiro Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. Catugi FC's Carlos Alberto Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. ✪ XV de Umarizal walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
