Gu Zhan Wei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Kauan Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joakim Abrahamsson got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Belmiro Pontes. 32 minutes into the match, Kléber Cavalcante notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Academia Santista CIMZ's Gu Zhan Wei. Gu Zhan Wei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tiago Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Aurken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kauan Leme made in the 39th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Belmiro Pontes however managed to control. 42 minutes into the match, Academia Santista CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Cavalcante came free, but Gu Zhan Wei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 minutes, Murillo Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Paulo F.C. and the Academia Santista CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, São Paulo F.C.'s Murillo Cordeiro got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Gu Zhan Wei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Cavalcante in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kléber Cavalcante was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Jeremias Aurken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiago Godoi. São Paulo F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeremias Aurken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Gu Zhan Wei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléber Cavalcante went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 66th minute Kléber Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gu Zhan Wei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Aurken came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th play minute Kléber Cavalcante came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gu Zhan Wei. 2-3. Kléber Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 88 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s Murillo Cordeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gu Zhan Wei narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Romildo Pratti came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the São Paulo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romildo Pratti couldn't finish the play. São Paulo F.C.'s Romildo Pratti got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. São Paulo F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
