The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilton Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Kiko Passos made a huge save. After 8 played minutes E.C. Água Santa got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson Bittencourt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 10th minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 15th minute of play. E.C. Água Santa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Casemiro in the 16th minute. A nice corner shot did that Carlos Casemiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rodolfo Salgado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 18 minutes into the game, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kiko Passos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, TAQUARI FC's Igor Tinoco got a free kick in the 26th minute. Rodolfo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Gilabert in the 34th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gualterio Gilabert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Salgado was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 48thth minute of the game Gualterio Gilabert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gualterio Gilabert made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Gilabert came free, but Rodolfo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by TAQUARI FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Casemiro was slow to take the kick. During this time E.C. Água Santa's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on E.C. Água Santa's corner Frank da Rocha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rodolfo Salgado quite easily take care of the ball. 55 minutes into the game, E.C. Água Santa's Gualterio Gilabert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodolfo Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. If Gualterio Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualterio Gilabert got free with Rodolfo Salgado in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match Gualterio Gilabert climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-4 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Rodolfo Salgado. In the 66th match minute, TAQUARI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Felin to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to TAQUARI FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joakim Felin hit a great ball. Gualterio Gilabert struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Rodolfo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Água Santa. In the 70th play minute Carlos Casemiro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rodolfo Salgado. 1-5. 76 minutes into the game, Gualterio Gilabert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Rodolfo Salgado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. E.C. Água Santa made a substitution. Andrézinho Berger replaced Gualterio Gilabert. Andrézinho Berger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Rodolfo Salgado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rodolfo Salgado made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Andrézinho Berger sent off a good shot on target. If Andrézinho Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Casemiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodolfo Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Casemiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodolfo Salgado made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Andrézinho Berger sent off a good shot on target. Andrézinho Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Andrézinho Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rodolfo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. E.C. Água Santa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
