Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gualterio Gilabert took the kick off in the first half of the match. Kiko Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Lucas in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th minute Gualterio Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Christian Passos got a free kick in the 6th minute. Antonio Carlos kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Gualterio Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, E.C. Água Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Matorin came free, but Kiko Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Montevideo were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after E.C. Água Santa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilson Fernandez took the corner. After taking down the ball on Montevideo's corner Zeca de Alcântara fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kiko Passos quite easily take care of the ball. Montevideo were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after E.C. Água Santa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilson Fernandez took the corner. Wilson Fernandez made a great header on Montevideo's corner, it was just that E.C. Água Santa's Kiko Passos managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 40th match minute, E.C. Água Santa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Barros to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Medeiros was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Gualterio Gilabert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gualterio Gilabert really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 51 played minutes E.C. Água Santa got a freekick which was hit by John Seah. If Wilson Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kiko Passos came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Olavo Matorin. But to his dismay, Olavo Matorin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 58th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Barreto to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Gualterio Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, E.C. Água Santa's goalkeeper Kiko Passos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laerte Lucas. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of E.C. Água Santa:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montevideo:s goal. E.C. Água Santa's Jonas Fernandes was substituted for Thiago Barros. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Lucas got free with Kiko Passos in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Gilabert in the 79th minute of play. If Gualterio Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. E.C. Água Santa made a substitution. Andrézinho Berger replaced Gualterio Gilabert. The Montevideo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montevideo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
