Wilton Vale took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Gaizkine. Paulo Gaizkine dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to TAQUARI FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Chupan Doar hit a great ball. TAQUARI FC's Ernani Souto managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ernesto de Amaral in the 47 minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto Soares to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Wilton Vale had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Gaizkine. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilton Vale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Gaizkine should have stopped the shot. Miguel Pimenta got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Miguel Pimenta got a free kick in the 78th minute. Paulo Gaizkine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 80th minute of the match. After 92 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Edson Couto. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Wilton Vale sped through Catugi FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Gaizkine. In the 97th minute, Carlos Alberto Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
