Gregory Krause was slow to take the kick. During this time Leeton United FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Leeton United FC's Ali Akram to fire away a dangerous shot which Brannan Renshaw despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Clay Heath's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, Brannan Renshaw skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Brannan Renshaw stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clay Heath's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Brannan Renshaw dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Wellington Phoenix's Brannan Renshaw proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Wellington Phoenix from getting a goal against them. With his leg Brannan Renshaw managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Leeton United FC's Clay Heath fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clay Heath who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Brannan Renshaw when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Wellington Phoenix's Laurence Wakefield got a free kick in the 15th minute. The audience was convinced that Clay Heath's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brannan Renshaw was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Clay Heath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Brannan Renshaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 minutes, Clay Heath made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Wellington Phoenix's Brannan Renshaw tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Laurence Wakefield hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Clay Heath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannan Renshaw having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Wellington Phoenix's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Clay Heath fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hank Hauschildt made a kick off. Brannan Renshaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Akram, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brannan Renshaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clay Heath in the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Akram in the 68th minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Brannan Renshaw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Brookes Crane came free, but Brannan Renshaw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Leeton United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 92 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Brendon Anderson came free, but Brannan Renshaw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Ernest Pukallus sped through Wellington Phoenix's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brannan Renshaw. When Leeton United FC's Ernest Pukallus in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wellington Phoenix's goalie prevented a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Wellington Phoenix players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Leeton United FC.
