France's Maxime Durand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save France from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, SK FC's Maximo Normando got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Alexis Bruneau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francis Sirait struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Maxime Durand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK FC. 40 minutes into the match, Frank Peletier notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SK FC's Sepp Fjeldtorp. Sepp Fjeldtorp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 43 minutes, Frank Peletier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. France's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Peletier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 54th minute, France's Camille Baume ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sepp Fjeldtorp. Sepp Fjeldtorp yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 59 minutes into the match, SK FC's goalkeeper Sepp Fjeldtorp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Peletier.
