Nicolás DAndrea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 8th minute, Paulo Laurentzi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicolás DAndrea. The goal made the score 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Bieito Villaurreta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nicolás DAndrea. That made the score 3-0 in the 10 minute of play. Usub Raha hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Vasile Curagãu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vasile Curagãu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Criciúma Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vasile Curagãu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Criciúma Esporte Clube:s Evelio Antoniano showed great skill when he stopped Jammy Krabbe:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Valadares in the 17th minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Nicolás DAndrea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Defensores del Ángel Gris's Nicolás DAndrea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bieito Villaurreta in the 19th minute of play. The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Criciúma Esporte Clube's Cosimo Capasso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 24 minutes into the match, Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Nicolás DAndrea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosimo Capasso. Nicolás DAndrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaztea Regalado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Defensores del Ángel Gris's Nicolás DAndrea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaztea Regalado in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Tercero Noya was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Criciúma Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensores del Ángel Gris the free kick. In the 30th minute, Tercero Noya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Criciúma Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Chabier came free, but Evelio Antoniano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cosimo Capasso kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bieito Villaurreta to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Bieito Villaurreta got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the game, Bieito Villaurreta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Nicolás DAndrea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bieito Villaurreta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 59 minutes, Luiz Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Criciúma Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braulio Cerilo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Evelio Antoniano made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Cosimo Capasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Cosimo Capasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Criciúma Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Cerilo came free, but Evelio Antoniano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braulio Cerilo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Evelio Antoniano firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 7-1 when Cosimo Capasso sped through Defensores del Ángel Gris's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolás DAndrea. In the 91st minute Braulio Cerilo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Antoniano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bieito Villaurreta came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Criciúma Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bieito Villaurreta couldn't finish the play.
