The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Criciúma Esporte Clube booed when Azulgranas AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Beremundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Paulo Laurentzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute Paulo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Henric saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Michaël Myers made a precise shot to the right of Evelio Antoniano. Criciúma Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Leo Henric made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosimo Capasso in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosimo Capasso got free with Leo Henric in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute, Michaël Myers made a precise shot to the right of Evelio Antoniano. Criciúma Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michaël Myers in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Antoniano saved Criciúma Esporte Clube from getting behind. Leo Henric made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosimo Capasso in the 32nd minute. Otto Copperfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tercero Noya made in the 38th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mehmet Emin Kamer. Paulo Laurentzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Leo Henric made a huge save. Evelio Antoniano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michaël Myers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Antoniano came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Azulgranas AFC's Michaël Myers. But to his dismay, Michaël Myers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Michaël Myers made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Laurentzi in the 70th minute of play forced Azulgranas AFC's goalkeeper Leo Henric to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Paulo Laurentzi made a precise shot to the right of Leo Henric. Azulgranas AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Evelio Antoniano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Leo Henric showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Laurentzi in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Paulo Laurentzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leo Henric was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Evelio Antoniano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michaël Myers went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score.
