After a rather tough play, Velez sarsfield's Fabio Regis got a free kick in the 4th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Takacs Tibor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Takacs Tibor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Frechoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Qin Kun Xi sent off a good shot on target. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Major Barna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Narciso Frechoso. Velez sarsfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Major Barna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Hungary's Major Barna got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Narciso Frechoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Velez sarsfield's Narciso Frechoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 40th minute of play. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Frechoso having to interfere. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Narciso Frechoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takacs Tibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With an all-out effort, Hungary's Narciso Frechoso threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Major Barna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Valentin Lico hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Narciso Frechoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 66th minute of play. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Orixe hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The supporters of Hungary booed when Velez sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Bernaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Major Barna could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Narciso Frechoso however easily saved by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's Qin Kun Xi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Velez sarsfield's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabio Regis in the 86th minute. The corner ended in Fabio Regis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. A collision led to Velez sarsfield getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Tobias Geleberto hit a great ball. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
