In the 27th minute, Claus Wüllbier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnout Reekers. The goal made the score 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Sporting Angola's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Freddy Sein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Angola's Freddy Sein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaramillo Amundarain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Freddy Sein made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Eikelkamp in the 51st minute. Wim Wilmes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Freddy Sein made a huge save. With a little luck, Sporting Angola's Freddy Sein got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute of the game Şenol Yazıcı made a throw-in which Folke Flinck played forward. Freddy Sein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. After 89 minutes of play, Sporting Angola's Jaramillo Amundarain made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Sporting Angola players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
