Benicio Otoniel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Matro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Pedro Mercurio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Fernández in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Benicio Otoniel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abel Matro. Plumerillo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benicio Otoniel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Abel Matro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Fero in the 34th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Plumerillo's Victor Deunoro got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosme Lauaxeta in the 40th minute of play forced Plumerillo's goalkeeper Abel Matro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ñacuñán AC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hector Fero in the 43rd minute. The corner led Ñacuñán AC's Hector Fero to fire away a dangerous shot which Abel Matro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ñacuñán AC's Cristobal Ralondo was substituted for Delmiro Oinaz. In the 58th minute, Benicio Otoniel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benicio Otoniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Abel Matro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Ñacuñán AC's Benicio Otoniel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Matro narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
