The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Maria Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Byers in the 6th minute. Russ Thorne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. José Maria Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, AF GuiFiguer OUT!! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Cosmos Soccer Club's José Maria Loureiro threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Russ Thorne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Russ Thorne took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Maria Loureiro. José Maria Loureiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Cosmos Soccer Club's Bruce Nesbitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Figueiredo in the 21st minute of play. When Carlos Alberto Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the AF GuiFiguer OUT!! fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Alberto Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmos Soccer Club's zone, Carlos Alberto Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruce Nesbitt came out of the goal and Carlos Alberto Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Figueiredo in the 36th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Bruce Nesbitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Carlos Alberto Figueiredo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bruce Nesbitt. Carlos Alberto Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Figueiredo took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruce Nesbitt. Bruce Nesbitt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half AF GuiFiguer OUT!! were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Alberto Figueiredo made a kick off. The supporters of Cosmos Soccer Club booed when AF GuiFiguer OUT!! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruce Nesbitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Figueiredo in the 59th minute of play. Cyrus Crouch hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Figueiredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bruce Nesbitt. Carlos Alberto Figueiredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmos Soccer Club's zone, Oséas Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruce Nesbitt came out of the goal and Oséas Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Alberto Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruce Nesbitt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Evaristo Ramalho in the 75th minute. AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s Evaristo Ramalho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bruce Nesbitt in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 77th minute Kris Byers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Weldon Velasco hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 88th match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russ Thorne to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s Jonas Favoretto got a free kick in the 91st minute. Kris Byers was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 97th match minute, AF GuiFiguer OUT!! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá Maravilha to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AF GuiFiguer OUT!! walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
