DEPOTIVO SJ's Ruben Tauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Russ Thorne in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Carolo Gil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41stth minute of the game Wilford Shipp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DEPOTIVO SJ's Ruben Tauro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ruben Tauro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilford Shipp, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Dante Paquette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Ruben Tauro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Vegetti was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, DEPOTIVO SJ's Ruben Tauro got control of the ball when Dante Paquette tried to sneak it across the goal line. The DEPOTIVO SJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 83 played minutes DEPOTIVO SJ got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre George. A collision led to Cosmos Soccer Club getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Franklin Willingham hit a great ball. In the 88th minute Dante Paquette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Tauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
