But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torbjörn Nilsson couldn't finish the play. Staffan Lind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Preator Edikt were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arvid Carlsson was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Linköpings AIK's zone, Torbjörn Nilsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staffan Lind came out of the goal and Torbjörn Nilsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the game, Preator Edikt's Torbjörn Nilsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Staffan Lind made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. 62 minutes into the game, Fellipe Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Preator Edikt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Linköpings AIK the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torbjörn Nilsson in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Staffan Lind saved Linköpings AIK from getting behind. Linköpings AIK's Staffan Lind played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Stor in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Michael Stor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Jim Hellström had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Arvid Carlsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
