When Silverio Napier fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formentera's protests and gave Silverio Napier a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Young Benefica booed when Formentera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silverio Napier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mitchel Dijkstra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Enmanuel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astor Aragones made an important save on a dangerous shot by Feyzullay Taşkıner in the 28th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Young Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 龙建烨 in the 76th minute of play. Wouter Zwinkels took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Astor Aragones. Formentera's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Young Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra got control of the ball when Domingo Urki tried to sneak it across the goal line.
