Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Santos FC's Tyron Velasquez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyron Velasquez. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tyron Velasquez during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Tyron Velasquez. In the 9th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vern Pierre to maneuver through the defense. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 13th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Titus Kohler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Tyron Velasquez struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Lanny Gilmore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Smallwood was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tyron Velasquez in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Netherlands's goalie prevented a goal. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 48 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Smallwood was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Santos FC's Dominic Albright managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gust Ennemans in the 53 minute of the game. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aaron Smallwood. Santos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 70th minute of play. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gust Ennemans got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gust Ennemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aaron Smallwood was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Vern Pierre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aaron Smallwood having to make a save. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Netherlands's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
