After 24 minutes Reyes F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valério Santana who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Valério Santana almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Reyes F.C.'s Fernando Isusko did a great save. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tottenham Hotspurs's goalkeeper Damián Martínez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Reyes F.C.'s zone, Ferenc Puskás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Isusko came out of the goal and Ferenc Puskás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferenc Puskás might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Isusko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferenc Puskás ran back to his position shaking his head. Reyes F.C.'s Fernando Isusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Puskás in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute of the game Ceferino Heli made a throw-in which Aristides Dabi played forward. Erik Alberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damián Martínez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Dabi in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Dabi in the 45th minute of play forced Tottenham Hotspurs's goalkeeper Damián Martínez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Dabi to strike the kick off in the second half. Damián Martínez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Tartalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the game, Ferenc Puskás cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1.
