If Elvio Cutberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Schneider's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilio Admon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Leandro Gotzon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fabio Auer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Emilio Admon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabio Schneider in the 77th minute. The throw-in from Leonel Sanchez in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Austria's Leonhard Maier. Fabio Schneider got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Austria's Fabio Schneider got a free kick in the 91st minute. Despite being the better team, Atlético Villa Gesell failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
