Club Atlético de Newell's Tommy Thompson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Johnsson in the 4th minute of play. Tommy Thompson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Johnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 10 minutes, Markus Beck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 1910 Di Blåe and the Club Atlético de Newell players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes 1910 Di Blåe got a freekick which was hit by Markus Beck. 15 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when André Johnsson came free, but Tommy Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Thompson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Johnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Tommy Thompson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Odman in the 20th minute of the match. André Johnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Thompson having to interfere. After some careless play in the 1910 Di Blåe defense, Philip Bakewell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torbjörn Helander. The 1910 Di Blåe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torbjörn Helander should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ollie Bright during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ollie Bright to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Odman in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Thompson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Odman in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Thompson saved Club Atlético de Newell from getting behind. In the 37th minute, Philip Bakewell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 40th minute, Philip Bakewell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 1910 Di Blåe were furious when Casper Lundgren was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Casper Lundgren hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Philip Bakewell was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 43rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Seth Tanner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Torbjörn Helander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Thomas Odman made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, 1910 Di Blåe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Odman to maneuver through the defense. 1910 Di Blåe's Torbjörn Helander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Tanner in the 60th minute of play. With an all-out effort, 1910 Di Blåe's Tommy Thompson threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from André Johnsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 61st minute André Johnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, André Johnsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommy Thompson. André Johnsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Tommy Thompson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Johnsson in the 66th minute of play. André Johnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Thompson having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Markus Beck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, Kasey Gobey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Torbjörn Helander was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Tristram Ellerton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of 1910 Di Blåe booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristram Ellerton didn't get a good kick on the ball. When André Johnsson fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1910 Di Blåe's protests and gave André Johnsson a yellow card for diving instead. André Johnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Kasey Gobey scored 5-2 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Torbjörn Helander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
