The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Le Stade Briochin UC's goalkeeper Tord Waller had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rupert Bear. 5 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Gaël Rats came free, but Tommy Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Atlético de Newell's Tommy Thompson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaël Rats in the 8th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Gaël Rats came free, but Tommy Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Archie Gilroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Le Stade Briochin UC! Olly Nethercot took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tord Waller. Tord Waller dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Omar Cardot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Thompson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Le Stade Briochin UC's Baptiste Demestre got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baptiste Demestre in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Thompson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Club Atlético de Newell's Tommy Thompson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomil Cymbal in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Rupert Bear was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético de Newell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Le Stade Briochin UC the free kick. The supporters of Le Stade Briochin UC booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rupert Bear didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Thompson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Cymbal in the 26th minute of the match. Baptiste Demestre kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baptiste Demestre in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Thompson saved Club Atlético de Newell from getting behind. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ollie Bright hit a great ball. Olly Nethercot succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 45th playminute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Olly Nethercot made the kick off in the second half. Tord Waller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olly Nethercot in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Omar Cardot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Le Stade Briochin UC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jocelyn Benito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Tommy Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tord Waller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Bear in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 minutes Le Stade Briochin UC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olly Nethercot who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Yves Bonheur heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Tord Waller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Bear in the 66th minute of play. Rupert Bear got his second yellow card in the match during the 67th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Omar Cardot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ollie Bright hit a great ball. Baptiste Demestre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Thompson having to interfere. Jocelyn Benito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Kris Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tony Amadieu scored 2-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Thompson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jocelyn Benito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Tommy Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Le Stade Briochin UC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc-Aurèle Hallier to maneuver through the defense. Kasey Gobey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tord Waller having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Le Stade Briochin UC's Omar Cardot got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Le Stade Briochin UC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
