The referee ignored As de Copas's protests and gave Arnaldo Toli a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, As de Copas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Toli to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute, Olly Nethercot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johnny Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Tommy Thompson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anacleto Justin in the 9th minute. With a little luck, Club Atlético de Newell's Tommy Thompson got control of the ball when Anacleto Justin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Anibal Iratxo could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Tommy Thompson however easily saved by the left post. Rupert Bear hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Anibal Iratxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anacleto Justin kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Leon Firmin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Bear in the 26th minute of play. Leon Firmin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rupert Bear's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Fulgencio Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28th play minutes Fulgencio Valente shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Tommy Thompson and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Bear in the 31st minute of play forced As de Copas's goalkeeper Leon Firmin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Firmin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Bear, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 40 minutes of play, Club Atlético de Newell's Rupert Bear made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leon Firmin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 48 minutes, Kasey Gobey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kasey Gobey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Anacleto Justin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leon Firmin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rupert Bear in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Kasey Gobey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Firmin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind As de Copas's goalkeeper Leon Firmin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Anibal Iratxo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anacleto Justin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Thompson having to interfere. If Rupert Bear had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommy Thompson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anacleto Justin in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Justin came free, but Tommy Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rupert Bear got free with Leon Firmin in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute, Leandro Cordeal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 89 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Tristram Ellerton. A hard shot 96 in the game by Rupert Bear from a close distance when the talented Leon Firmin managed to make a qualified save. As de Copas's players were relieved. When the final whistle sounded Club Atlético de Newell left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than As de Copas.
