Thanks to some nice moves Pastor Eufemio could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Jonatan Nahia however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 27 minutes, Inocencio Montrel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hombres de Negro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Montrel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Hombres de Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Spike Foley came free, but Jonatan Nahia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastor Eufemio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jonatan Nahia made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Devon Howson got free with Jonatan Nahia in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 43 minutes into the game, Devon Howson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonatan Nahia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Percival was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Hombres de Negro booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Percival didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonatan Nahia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Devon Howson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Hombres de Negro's Bernard Czerny was substituted for Mikel Oyarzabal. After 75 minutes Hombres de Negro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pastor Eufemio who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Hombres de Negro's goalie and right to Spike Foley. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Hombres de Negro's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After some careless play in the Hombres de Negro defense, Pastor Eufemio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonatan Nahia. The Hombres de Negro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonatan Nahia should have stopped the shot. Inocencio Montrel's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dušan Ančic firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Foley in the 85th minute of play forced Hombres de Negro's goalkeeper Jonatan Nahia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Ančic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernard Czerny in the 94th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Club Atlético de Newell had played much better football throughout.
