Spike Foley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Lukas Williams made a huge save. Lukas Williams made an important save on a dangerous shot by Devon Howson in the 10th minute. Lukas Williams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Pastor Eufemio hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Wilton Mandrak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukas Williams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Clemencin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Percival in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lukas Williams saved Arribeños AFC from getting behind. Arribeños AFC's Zeledon Clemencin got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Sebastian Percival shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukas Williams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Arribeños AFC's Carmelo Gipuzkoa got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Sebastian Percival ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lukas Williams was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Lukas Williams made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devon Howson in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Percival in the 35th minute of play forced Arribeños AFC's goalkeeper Lukas Williams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Percival. 42 minutes into the match, Arribeños AFC's goalkeeper Lukas Williams had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Devon Howson. 44 minutes into the game, Roque Dei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dušan Ančic was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roque Dei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arribeños AFC's Lukas Williams played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spike Foley in the 52nd minute of play. After 57 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by William Dunning. Amanda Hoffs replaced William Dunning. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arribeños AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Omar Ralondo's late challenge caught a Club Atlético de Newell's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Omar Ralondo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Omar Ralondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dušan Ančic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Arribeños AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lukas Williams should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Atlético de Newell fully deserved thier win.
