An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Kaczanka in the 47th minute of play forced Taquaril SS's goalkeeper José Paulo Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baltazar Azevedo to make the kick off. In the 66th minute, Taquaril SS's Baltazar Azevedo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alex Frasca. Alex Frasca yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Alex Frasca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Azevedo in the 69th minute of the match. When Taquaril SS's Baltazar Azevedo in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garanhão do SUL's goalie prevented a goal. After 78 minutes Taquaril SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. José Paulo Meira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Garanhão do SUL's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
