With a little luck, Taquaril SS's José Paulo Meira got control of the ball when Gino Galante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gino Galante received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Paulo Meira came out and tried to block the shot, but Gino Galante slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, The Owls's Gino Galante got a free kick in the 26th minute. Jan-Åke Emander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Galante in the 33rd minute of play forced Taquaril SS's goalkeeper José Paulo Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee showed Júlio Paulista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of The Owls booed when Taquaril SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Owls's Ubarna Harroyo was substituted for Gino Galante. 90 minutes into the match, Taquaril SS's goal looked a bit too open when William Creemers came free, but José Paulo Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
