Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Greger Bratt during the 2nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jens-Åke Källberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jens-Åke Källberg. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 33 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Casper Claes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Torgny Landin made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Torgny Landin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Belgium booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Arne Klochkovskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harry Hedling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Jens-Åke Källberg in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
