The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match Bruninho Silva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdo Catarinense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Valdo Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Felipe Queiroz sent off a good shot on target. When SORRISO E. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateus Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 0-2 became the score in the 23rd minute when Leopoldo Trancoso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 28 played minutes TAQUARI FC got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Queiroz. TAQUARI FC's Sílvio Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Trancoso in the 32nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Eger during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Eger. In the 33rd minute Bruninho Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of TAQUARI FC booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 43 in the game by Bruninho Silva from a close distance when the talented Valdo Catarinense managed to make a qualified save. SORRISO E. C.'s players were relieved. Eliseu Pinheiro hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Bruninho Silva made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Silva in the 53rd minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Valdo Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateus Salgado hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 58 minutes, Felipe Queiroz made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Paulo de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Paulo de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute, Zé Paulo de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Zonta having to interfere. Felipe Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdo Catarinense having to make a save. In the 79th match minute, SORRISO E. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Augusto Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sílvio Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Eger in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, TAQUARI FC's Edgard Arósio got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 90 played minutes, SORRISO E. C.'s Eliseu Pinheiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sílvio Zonta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SORRISO E. C. reached it. SORRISO E. C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
