Zé Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Vascogoianiense FC booed when Reko-Recko 03™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chico Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raúl de Andrade hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Dinei Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Chico Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Hélder Trigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chico Dracena was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 30 played minutes Reko-Recko 03™ got a freekick which was hit by Doriva Meira. Chico Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 40th minute, Roberto Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hélder Trigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Anderson Valladares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Chico Dracena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 56th minute, Dinei Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, Anderson Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chico Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Mendes in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Raúl de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Wiliam Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Moisés Amaral hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Roberto Mota hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match Reko-Recko 03™ got a corner. Vascogoianiense FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wiliam Cardoso ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Reko-Recko 03™'s Erivaldo Esteves got a free kick in the 76th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vascogoianiense FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! In the 87th minute, the referee gave Reko-Recko 03™ a penalty. Wiliam Cardoso looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Zé Augusto Peixoto. When Vascogoianiense FC's Hélder Trigo in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Reko-Recko 03™'s goalie prevented a goal. Wiliam Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Peixoto made a huge save. Many of Reko-Recko 03™'s supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Reko-Recko 03™ may have spent more time on the ball, but Vascogoianiense FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
