When Aílton Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Zandarin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Amorim couldn't finish the play. In the 5thth minute of the game Aílton Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Karaboudjan's Miguel Baptista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miguel Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Amorim in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Carlos Augusto Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th match minute, Karaboudjan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Zandarin FC defense, Eugênio Tasso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedrinho Severo. The Zandarin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedrinho Severo should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd match minute, Zandarin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Urbano to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Zandarin FC's Aílton Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Zandarin FC got a freekick which was hit by Michel Urbano. The throw-in from Arlindo Neiva in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Zandarin FC's Délio Arósio. 40 minutes into the game, Manoel Xavier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zandarin FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karaboudjan the free kick. Manoel Xavier hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Andrade. In the 43rd minute, Célio Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Zandarin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandrinho Neves to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Richard Fantini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Karaboudjan's Emerson Pinheiro got a free kick in the 55th minute. Aílton Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aílton Amorim hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zandarin FC's Pedrinho Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio Tasso in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Richard Fantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugênio Tasso in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho Severo saved Zandarin FC from getting behind. Walmir Schmidt's late challenge caught a Karaboudjan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmir Schmidt helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Zandarin FC's Walmir Schmidt got a free kick in the 75th minute. Pedrinho Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Aílton Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Miguel Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Karaboudjan had played much better football throughout.
