After some careless play in the SOUTH AFRICA defense, Lavan Querubin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeo Dominic. The SOUTH AFRICA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeo Dominic should have stopped the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Argentino de Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Ted came free, but Leonides Valentine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Valentine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Mel, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute Romeo Mel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Valentine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SOUTH AFRICA's Romeo Dominic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Bemabe in the 42nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute Lavan Querubin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Dominic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victorio Bemabe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Elvio Ted scored 2-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonides Valentine, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 64 minutes into the game, Romeo Mel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonides Valentine. Romeo Mel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Romeo Dominic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Berasko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Argentino de Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Ted came free, but Leonides Valentine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Raimundo Castulo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SOUTH AFRICA's Romeo Dominic did a great save. Romeo Dominic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorio Bemabe in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Argentino de Banfield booed when SOUTH AFRICA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliciano Osmundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nunez Berasko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Domeka in the 95th minute of play forced Argentino de Banfield's goalkeeper Leonides Valentine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nunez Berasko in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Dominic saved SOUTH AFRICA from getting behind. SOUTH AFRICA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
