The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean-Marie Sanquer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 5th minute of the match. The corner led Hungary's Antal Valentin to fire away a dangerous shot which Jean-Marie Sanquer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 8th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Marie Sanquer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Perthes United booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vörös Henrik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Marie Sanquer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Loïc Curt during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Perthes United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loïc Curt to maneuver through the defense. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Marie Sanquer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute, Major Barna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Perthes United's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Jean-Marie Sanquer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Hungary's Antal Valentin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean-Marie Sanquer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Hegedus Henrik might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Marie Sanquer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hegedus Henrik ran back to his position shaking his head. Loïc Curt got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 43rd minute, Loïc Curt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Balazs Lajos hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hercule Basque stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hercule Basque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jean-Marie Sanquer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Marie Sanquer made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. Antal Valentin came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jean-Marie Sanquer could save by the left post. 60 minutes into the game, Hercule Basque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Fodor Daniel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antal Valentin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Jean-Marie Sanquer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jason Henrio charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jason Henrio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hungary booed when Perthes United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jason Henrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perthes United's Jean-Marie Sanquer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 84th minute of play. Jean-Marie Sanquer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 86th minute. After 88 played minutes Major Barna rounded Perthes United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. 91 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean-Marie Sanquer. Perthes United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The supporters of Perthes United booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Katona Janos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Marie Sanquer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Major Barna went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score.
