In the 7th minute Ángel Baena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Knudsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by AEK FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lucjan Figlewski was slow to take the kick. During this time KP Opel Kamień's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AEK FC's goalie and right to Boguslaw Witek. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AEK FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julian Ross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kenneth Knudsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Lars-Erik Angvik took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Stanislaw Iwanowski to make any attempt to save it. In the 27thth minute of the game Julian Ross who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Julian Ross's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kenneth Knudsen was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Ross to make the kick off. Kenneth Knudsen made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Julian Ross sent off a good shot on target. If Julian Ross had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Konstanty Kajder. Julian Ross hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Julian Ross came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the KP Opel Kamień fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Ross couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute, Julian Ross ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kenneth Knudsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 75 minutes into the match, Steve Triganza notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of KP Opel Kamień's Stanislaw Iwanowski. Stanislaw Iwanowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Konstanty Kajder in the 81st minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Carmine Caligaris put in a rough tackle.

After 115 played minutes AEK FC got a freekick which was hit by Sondre Kråkenes.

When it was time for second half in the overtime, the players were a bit slow, but they soon became more alert when it was time for Julian Ross to make the kick off. Julian Ross who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 120thth minute tested the skills of Kenneth Knudsen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 121 played minutes KP Opel Kamień got a freekick which was hit by Ángel Baena. Through an outstanding action, after 124 minutes, Kenneth Knudsen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The KP Opel Kamień players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
